Supported Platforms and Gateways

Bold is flexible and integrates across multiple ecommerce platforms and payment gateways. This removes the need for shop administrators to migrate their shops to new systems.

Supported ecommerce platforms​

The following ecommerce platforms are supported unless otherwise specified:

  • Adobe Commerce (formerly known as Magento 2)
  • BigCommerce
  • commercetools
  • Magento 1
  • Shopify (except with Bold Checkout)
  • Custom Platforms

Supported payment gateways​

The following payment gateways are supported.

Payment gateway restrictions​

There are some restrictions on the number and type of payment gateways that can be used at one time.

Each store can have:

  • One payment gateway per currency.
  • One payment gateway per type of payment. The available types are credit card, branded card, gift card, and PayPal payments.
  • An unlimited number of external payment gateways or payment-related plugins.

The only exception to the above rules is PayPal Complete Payments (PPCP). PPCP can serve as a second payment gateway of the same type or currency.

For each order, Bold dynamically chooses which payment gateway to use for the order. This is done first by currency, then by payment type.
