Payment Processing with PayPal Complete Payments Platform

Bold Checkout supports the use of PayPal Complete Payments Platform (PPCP) as a payment gateway. PPCP enables you to accept payments in multiple currencies around the world. Customers can pay via credit or debit cards, local payment methods, PayPal wallet, or other alternative payment options such as Apple Pay.

Bold supports the following PPCP features:

• Advanced Credit Debit Card (ACDC)
• Apple Pay
• Basic Credit Debit Card (BCDC)
• Pay Later
• PayPal

When PPCP is configured properly as a payment gateway, it appears in the Payment method area of the checkout, as shown in the following screenshot:

Potential use cases

Use cases for PPCP as your payment gateway include:

• Enable various wallet-pay options, such as Apple Pay.
• Allow your customers to make several payments toward a purchase using Pay Later.
• Maintain compliance with the SCA directive by enabling 3D Secure (required for European Union merchants).

Bold also provides the PayPal Checkout Flow, which allows customers to check out with PayPal from the cart page.
